Palf PixelPaint
Two effects for drawing on a binary pixel grid: Write-on and Stroke.
Installation
- 01
Copy the PixelPaint plug-in from the distribution into the After Effects Plug-ins folder.

Restart After Effects to make Palf Pixel Write-on and Palf Pixel Stroke available.
Palf Pixel Write-on
Animate Brush Position to paint into the pixel grid. The travelled path accumulates as binary cells, making it suitable for pixel-art write-ons and trails.
- Brush Position
- Drawing position and the principal property to animate.
- Colour / Brush Size
- Set paint colour and brush dimensions.
- Shape
- Choose a circular or square brush.
- Stroke Length (sec) / Brush Spacing (sec)
- Control retained trail length and brush spacing.
- Resolution
- Sets pixel-grid resolution.
- Paint Style
- Choose On Original Image, On Transparent, or Reveal Original Image.
Palf Pixel Stroke
Draws layer mask paths into the pixel grid. It can process all masks and animate them sequentially.
- Path / All Masks
- Select one path or use every mask on the layer.
- Stroke Sequentially
- Draws multiple masks one after another.
- Start / End
- Set the painted interval along the path.
- Spacing / Resolution
- Adjust pixel spacing and grid resolution.
- Paint Style
- Uses the same three compositing styles as Write-on.
